“Beauty is in the skin! Take care of it, oil it, clean it, scrub it, perfume it, and put on your best clothes, even if there is no special occasion, and you’ll feel like a queen. If society is hard on you, fight back by pampering your skin. Skin is political. Otherwise, why would the imams order us to hide it?”- Fatima Mernissi

Skin is the best thing you can wear. Not just skin, your hair, your nails, your eyes, everything needs care once in a while so that they get adequate nourishment. But when you are at a romantic getaway with your partner at a couple-friendly hotel nearby in a harsh weather, then your body needs extra care. The harsh sunlight, the pollution, the traveling stress, and the late nights will take a toll on your body. The dark circles around the eyes, the constant hair fall, patchy lips, and the dry skin are not something that you would like to have while you are on a trip of your lifetime. Though you can buy any beauty products at your travel destination, it is very important to carry your products that will suit your skin type. Experimenting with your body during a trip is not a very good idea.  Your wardrobe at home may have a ton of beauty products but you possibly can’t carry all of them. There are some products which you must carry with you all the time wherever you go. Pack these products in a different pouch in your traveling bag for easy usage.

1-Sunscreen lotion and moisturizer

Harsh sunlight, dry winds, and pollution will make your skin dry. It will make your face gloomy and out of any glow. Especially if you are holidaying at a hotel in Chennai or a hotel at Hyderabad, then it is a must to take special care of your skin due to more exposure to direct sunlight. Carry with you a very good sunscreen lotion, preferably SPF 30-50 range, depending upon your skin types. This will protect your skin from getting sunburn and will also take care of your complexion. Make sure to keep a nice moisturizer with you that you can apply twice daily after cleansing to avoid dry skin.

2-Lipsticks of different hues

“If I had to teach someone just one thing about lip color, it would be this: Find a lipstick that looks good on your face when you are wearing absolutely no makeup.”- Bobby Brown.

Lipsticks are like instant glamour. You are in a hurry to catch a train or flight, or no time for proper makeup, just put on nice lip color and you are good to go. Make sure to carry 3 basic colors in your traveling bag- a nude, a berry, and a hot red. These 3 colors go with every occasion no matter what. It is best to carry your lip colors in your handbag so that they are easily accessible. Hence, the next time you plan on a trip with your partner at a couple-friendly hotel nearby, make sure to carry these 3 colors. Nevertheless, your photographs will turn out to be even more beautiful with these colors.

3-Waterproof eyeliner

“The beauty of a woman must be seen from in her eyes because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides.”- Audrey Hepburn

Do you want to spend the trip of your lifetime with dripping eyeliners and raccoon eyes? No right! Eyes are the doorway to your soul. Hence, maintaining it and enhancing its features is the best thing you can do. Smudging of the eyeliner because of sweating and rain is one of the things that can make your eyes look like a black puddle. To avoid such situations, always carry a waterproof eyeliner with you.

4-Essential oils for your hair and serum

Hair needs extreme care when you are on roads. The difference in temperature, moisture in the air, dry winds, and sudden rain can cause severe damage to your hair. There are so many hair hacks that you can follow while traveling. One of the prime things to do is to oil your hair. It can provide you with adequate nourishment throughout your trip. Keep a sachet of jojoba or coconut oil in your pouch. Sachets are easier to carry and also safe. Do not forget to carry your serum and use it after every hair wash.

5-Makeup remover

After a tiring day of all hiking and site seeing, it is a nightmare to wake up with a face full of acne breakout. Generally, girls tend to neglect this very important step in skincare and simply retire to bed. Keep a mild makeup remover handy with you, so that you can wipe out all cream and dirt.

6-Wet tissues

Wet tissues are women’s best friends. A pack of wet tissues in your bag can do wonders like wiping out dirt deposited on your face, keep your skin hydrated when the temperature is too high and helps to remove makeup.

7-Dry shampoo

Any of the hotels that you book for your stay, whether it on a 24-hour basis check-in or booking hotel rooms on an hourly basis, do provide bathing essentials like shampoo, conditioner, or body soaps. But it is always good to carry your dry shampoo in case you are in a hurry.

8-Compact hairdryer

Eyes did, lips done, hair washed but you can’t just get out to attend that conference at a hotel nearby in wet hair with dripping water all over. In situations like these, a compact hair dryer comes very handily. Make sure you carry one on your next trip. If your traveling bag has some extra space left, do drop a thin hair straighter in it as well.

9-Perfume

You surely do not want to smell weird with all the sweat and dirt. A mild perfume will add that touch of oomph on your overall look. Always carry a small pocket size bottle perfume on your bag.

10-Razor

Amongst all the traveling and using beauty products, a good grooming session is a dire necessity. Do not forget to pack a small razor with you for a proper grooming session.

As said by William Wordsworth, “Rest and be thankful”, make sure to take ample amount of rest. Rest is the best thing that you can give to your skin and your mind. You can always book a hotel room on an hourly basis to sleep and relax for some time.
