The movie portrays Alia as a bride to be who is abducted by a goon and their journey across North India. Highway was shot across six states and takes us on a tour through different terrains, from the sands of Rajasthan to the mountains of Kashmir. Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani (2013)

              An adventurous trek with friends in Manali, a tour around the world,a destination wedding in Udaipur, name it and this movie has it. Directed by Ayan Mukherjee and starring Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor in the lead roles, this story of four friends touched hearts. The movie shows what change one trip can bring about in your life and leaves you craving to pack your bags and leave on one with your friends. Dil Chahta Hai (2001)

            A film that reached cult status, this movie is still immensely popular among youngsters. Goa trips and road trips with friends gained popularity only after this movie. Three school friends, played by Aamir Khan, Saif Ali Khan and Akshay Khanna meet after a few friends and embark on a journey. This movie explores strained relationships in a very beautiful way. Queen (2014)

          Winning many accolades and many more hearts, this comedy was directed by Vikas Bahl and has Kangana Ranaut in the titular role. Kangana plays Rani, a naive girl who gets left at the altar. She then decides to go on her pre-planned honeymoon all by herself. The movie traces her journey to Paris and Amsterdam. She faces a lot of struggles on the go due to her lack of experience but also ends up meeting a lot of interesting people. This movie sets major goals for solo women travelers and for women in general.

Tamasha (2015)

                 A romantic comedy starring Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone, Tamasha has the couple meet on a trip to Corsica. This movie made this Mediterranean island a popular tourist destination among Indians. Apart from exploring the scenic island, this movie also shows glimpses of the scenic mountains of Shimla. Jab We Met (2007)

            You cannot call yourself a fan of Bollywood if you do not know Geet from Jab We Met. This movie has Shahid Kapoor playing the role of a suicidal business tycoon in a failed relationship who meets the bubbly and cheerful Geet, played by Kareena Kapoor on a train to Delhi. The movie then has Geet take him to meet her family in Bhatinda and a series of events that happen after they run away from there. The fields of Punjab and the scenic locations of Manali and Shimla are shown beautifully in this movie. Energetic with a splash of color, this is a go to movie for some travel inspiration.
